Delete your WetinSell account

How to have your account and everything in it deleted, what goes, what stays, and how long it takes.

WetinSell is an app published by WetinSell Ltd. You can ask us to delete your WetinSell account and the data held with it, and you do not need to open the app or install it again to do it. Everything on this page is done by email.

Who can ask

• The owner of a business on WetinSell.
• A staff member — an attendant — who has their own WetinSell login.
• Anyone who signed up and never set up a business.

How to ask

1. Send an email to support@wetinsell.com. You can write from any email address; it does not have to be one you have used with us before.
2. Put Delete my account in the subject line.
3. In the message, give the name of your business if you have one, and the phone number you use to sign in to WetinSell.
4. Wait for us to reach you on that phone number, by call or on WhatsApp, so we can check the request really came from you. Nothing is deleted before that.

What is removed when an owner deletes

Deleting an owner's account deletes the whole business. That means all of this:

• the owner's account and sign-in
• the business itself
• its shops and warehouses
• items and stock
• sales, cash and credit records
• supplier and customer records, including names and phone numbers
• photos
• staff invitations that have not been accepted
• registrations for phone alerts
• the new-stock WhatsApp list, and the record of messages the shop says it sent
• the accounts of staff who belong to that business

This cannot be undone, and there is no copy left to restore from afterwards. If your figures still matter to you, settle that before you send the request.

What is removed when a staff member deletes

Deleting a staff member's account removes their account, their sign-in and their personal details.

The records they entered stay with the business, because those records belong to the business and not to them, and they still show who recorded them. That is deliberate and it cuts both ways: a shop's ledger has to stay whole, and an attendant who did their work properly keeps the proof that they did.

What we keep

Nothing else, and we keep no copy.

The one exception is a record Nigerian law requires us to hold on to. If that ever applies to your request, we will tell you at the time what we have to keep and for how long.

How long it takes

Within 30 days of your request, and usually sooner. We tell you by email or on WhatsApp when it is done.

If a shop has saved your number

If you are a customer of a shop that uses WetinSell, that shop may hold your name and phone number in its own records — for a credit sale, say. Those records belong to the shop. You can ask the shop to remove you, or write to support@wetinsell.com and we will deal with it.
